WinnMed is seeking to hire a full-time 3rd shift - Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgery Department.
In this role, you will be an important part of a team that is trained to ensure patients receive the safest care. You will be responsible for:
- Decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of equipment and supplies for in-hospital use.
- Following the manufacturers recommendations for sterilization and follows departmental procedures.
- Responsible for the processing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation which includes decontamination, assembly, terminal sterilization and sterile storage delivery to end users.
- Ordering supplies, stocking, completing audits, and cleaning.
- Fostering teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, attention to detail and quick problem-solving.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM. No weekends and no Holidays
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have one of the following:
- 1) Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa OR
- 2) Another healthcare certification plus one year of healthcare experience OR
- 3) At least 2 years of related healthcare experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required (or willing to obtain within 1 year from hire)
- BLS certification required within 1 month of hire
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the perioperative setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory management
- Preferred:
- Previous healthcare or perioperative experience preferred
- Microsoft Word & Excel knowledge and experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and surgical instrumentation
- At least 2 years of experience with surgical instrumentation handling and sterilization
