Reporting To: On-Site Manager

Classification / Pay Grade: Grade 9 Driver EA — $40.00/hr base rate (first 7.6 hours) + applicable Overtime rates

About the Role

We are seeking two (2) experienced A-Double Road Train Drivers to join our operational team based out of our Stawell, VIC facility.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating A-Double Skel Combinations transporting freight between our Stawell site and the Port of Melbourne. This position offers consistent full-time hours with a structured run schedule.

Working Hours & Schedule

• Operating Shift: 4:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday, on average)
• Run Schedule: Average of 1.5 legs per day
• Overnight Stays: Every second night will require an overnight stay away from home (overnight allowance applies per EA)

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate an A-Double Road Train Skel Combination on regional and metropolitan transport corridors.
• Transport cargo smoothly between the Stawell facility and Port of Melbourne terminals.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any mechanical issues.
• Ensure accurate logbook recording and strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR fatigue regulations.
• Secure and check skeletal trailer container locks and weight distribution prior to departure.
• Represent the company professionally during loading, drop-offs, and Port site interactions.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• MC (Multi-Combination) Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (Required)
• Proven experience operating A-Double / Multi-Combination Skel rigs or similar heavy combinations.
• Valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) for Port of Melbourne access (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong track record of road safety and clean driving history.
• Ability to handle regular overnight stays away from home.
• Must pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screen.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Pay: $40.00 per hour (Grade 9 Driver EA) for the first 7.6 hours daily.
• Overtime: Penalty rates applied after 7.6 hours per shift.
• Stable Work: Consistent Monday–Friday schedule with predictable weekend home time.
• Supportive Environment: Direct reporting to supportive local management on site in Stawell.
