Aptiva Health is seeking a dependable, adaptable, and patient-focused Float Medical Assistant to support our clinical teams at both our Newburg Road and Downtown Louisville locations. This position provides clinical support where it is needed most, ensuring continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience across multiple clinics.
The ideal candidate enjoys variety in their workday, adapts quickly to different providers and clinic workflows, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.
Float between the Newburg Road and Downtown clinic locations based on daily operational needs.
Welcome and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Verify patient information, obtain medical histories, and document the reason for each visit.
Record vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature.
Assist physicians with injections, in-office procedures, and patient care.
Assist with X-ray procedures as needed.
Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies for patient visits.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Communicate physician instructions and patient education within scope of practice.
Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify leadership of replenishment needs.
Follow infection control protocols and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Support clinic operations by assisting teammates and adapting to changing patient volumes and staffing needs.
Maintain a professional, positive, and patient-centered approach at all times.
Required
Medical Assistant certification or completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Professional, dependable, and patient-focused demeanor.
Flexibility to travel between the Newburg Road and Downtown clinic locations as scheduled.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred
Previous experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or specialty medical practice.
Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Experience assisting with X-ray procedures and orthopedic office procedures.
