    Position Summary

    Aptiva Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist to join our Louisville team. This role supports both clinical and front office operations, ensuring patients receive exceptional care and service from check-in through follow-up. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, thrives in a collaborative team setting, and is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical:

    • Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.

    • Verify patient information, obtain medical histories, and document the reason for each visit.

    • Record vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, and other clinical information as appropriate.

    • Assist physicians with injections, in-office procedures, and patient care.

    • Assist with X-ray procedures as needed.

    • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and clinical supplies.

    • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).

    • Communicate physician instructions and patient education within scope of practice.

    • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.

    • Follow infection control standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

    Front Office:

    • Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service.

    • Check patients in and out while verifying demographic and insurance information.

    • Schedule new and follow-up appointments in person and by phone.

    • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions or appointment requests.

    • Confirm upcoming appointments.

    • Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

    • Support daily front office operations and administrative tasks.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Medical Assistant certification or completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor.

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.

    Preferred:

    • Previous experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or specialty medical practice.

    • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

    • Experience assisting with X-ray procedures or in-office orthopedic procedures.
