Aptiva Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Surgery Scheduler to join our Louisville team. This role supports both clinical and pre-operative initiatives, ensuring patients receive exceptional care and service throughout their course of treatment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, thrives in a collaborative team setting, and is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.
Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
Verify patient information, obtain medical histories, and document the reason for each visit.
Record vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, and other clinical information as appropriate.
Assist physicians with injections, in-office procedures, and patient care.
Assist with X-ray procedures as needed.
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and clinical supplies.
Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Communicate physician instructions and patient education within scope of practice.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
Follow infection control standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Required:
Medical Assistant certification or completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred:
Previous experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or specialty medical practice.
Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Experience handling and communicating pre-operative procedures and protocols.
