    As a Medical Assistant / Radiology Technologist Assistant, you will provide important clinical support to our MRI and CT teams while helping create an efficient, comfortable experience for our patients.

    PRN Flexibility & Work/Life Balance

    This PRN position offers flexibility while providing the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an outpatient imaging environment.

    Position Summary

    The Medical Assistant / Radiology Technologist Assistant (PRN) works directly alongside MRI and CT technologists to support safe, efficient, and high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

    IV placement is an important part of this position. Previous IV experience and strong IV skills are highly preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong clinical foundation, is comfortable with hands-on patient care, and is motivated to develop this skill.

    You will assist with patient preparation, IV access, contrast-related support, room preparation, and day-to-day clinical workflow to help our technologists provide an exceptional patient experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Start IVs for CT and MRI contrast-enhanced examinations after appropriate training and demonstrated competency
    • Assist MRI and CT technologists with patient preparation and positioning
    • Support MRI safety screening under the direction of the technologist
    • Prepare supplies and provide support for contrast-enhanced examinations
    • Assist with patient monitoring before, during, and after procedures as directed
    • Escort patients and help maintain an efficient workflow between modalities
    • Prepare, clean, and organize MRI and CT rooms between patients
    • Stock supplies and ensure clinical areas are ready for procedures
    • Communicate effectively with technologists, patients, and clinic staff
    • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
    • Provide compassionate, patient-centered support throughout the imaging experience

    Qualifications

    • Medical Assistant or other appropriate clinical training/credential
    • Previous IV placement experience is strongly preferred
    • Candidates without extensive IV experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong clinical skills and a willingness and ability to complete IV training
    • Comfortable providing hands-on patient care
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Dependable, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
    • Ability to work effectively alongside MRI and CT technologists
    • Ability and willingness to work at both the North Kansas City and Liberty locations

    Experience supporting CT, MRI, radiology, or another procedural environment is preferred but not required.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Medical Assistant certification required

    • Proven competency in starting IVs required

    • Previous experience in MRI, CT, or radiology environment preferred

    • Comfortable working in MRI and CT clinical settings
