Tier One Technologies is seeking a COBOL/CICS Developer to support Payroll applications for our US Government client.
This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
Must be a US Citizen.
SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
Ensure that requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirements specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop detailed, lower-level implementation requirements.
Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development.
Design interfaces and integrate system elements to ensure they function together as a cohesive system.
Assess system performance using established evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
Act as a customer liaison and support business development activities to understand and shape requirements.
Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
Participate in design reviews of hardware and software components to ensure their applicability to the current system and maintain requirements traceability through compliance verification and validation.
Review test plans and procedures to ensure they meet contractual requirements and participate in testing activities to validate requirements.
Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts in making required changes.
Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify database identifiers for database management systems, or direct others in coding these descriptions.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
Review project requests describing database user needs and estimate the time and cost required to complete the project.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
4+ years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2.
Prior experience supporting Payroll applications is a plus.
Experience utilizing Agile methodology.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
Able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
