We are looking for a bilingual Accounting Assistant to support the Accounting Manager in day-to-day accounting operations. The role is responsible for processing accounting transactions using the ERP system (IFS), including journal entries, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and assisting with the preparation of financial reports such as the Trial Balance (TB).
The position also provides general accounting and administrative support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
This role reports to the Accounting Department Manager.
- Operate and maintain accounting transactions using the ERP (IFS) system.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements, including the Trial Balance (TB), Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet (BS), and Cash Flow (CF).
- Record, maintain, and reconcile financial transactions and accounting records.
- Process supplier invoices and support Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- High school diploma, or an associate/bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
- Software Proficiency: High comfort level with tools like Microsoft Excel and accounting platforms
- Bookkeeping Knowledge: Understanding of general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Numerical Accuracy: Strong basic math skills and careful attention to detail to catch errors
- Ability to use CRM and ERP software
- Japanese native with fluency in English
- Organization: Ability to manage files, meet regular deadlines, and prioritize tasks
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to deal with vendors, clients, and team members
