OVERVIEW & CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
At ABA Therapy Partners, Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) empower students to overcome language, speech, and communication challenges, directly enhancing their ability to thrive in educational and therapeutic programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct evaluations, screenings, and formal/informal assessments to identify speech and language needs.
- IEP Development: Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals and state criteria.
- Direct Therapy: Deliver targeted individual or group speech therapy sessions to achieve measurable IEP outcomes.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Consult with parents, school personnel, psychologists, and support teams to support holistic student progress.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate IEP records and Medi-Cal billing in alignment with state and ABA Therapy Partners standards.
Professional Growth: Participate in continuing education and staff development provided by ABA Therapy Partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Credentials
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Master's in Special Education preferred).
- Credentials: Valid California Teaching Credential and Speech-Language Pathology Specialist Credential.
- Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) or sign language skills desirable.
Core Competencies & Experience
- Special Education Knowledge: Understanding of district, state, and federal special education laws and policies.
- Student Support: Experience working with autistic, behaviorally challenged, or severely handicapped students preferred.
- Assistive Technology: Experience with alternative communication systems and adaptive tools highly desirable.
- Communication & Organization: Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to manage documentation independently and work collaboratively within educational teams.
