Internship – Building Information Modeling content

Your role and responsibilities

ABB is seeking an intern with the aim of supporting the digitalization and structuring of ABB BIM product catalog. The successful candidate will support the management of technical data within a professional BIM (Building Information Modeling) software for electrical system design, collaborating with both the internal team and technology partners.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with technical experts, developing concrete skills in complex data management and communication with specialized technical professionals.

The intern will be integrated into the technical team and will have a dedicated supervisor to ensure coordination and oversight of all activities. The intern will have access to specialized support from the partner software house's technicians when necessary, always operating within a structured and supervised process.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrification business.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Analyze and interpret technical content for electrical products and automation components.
• Input and structure technical data within the design software.
• Organize complete product families, including main items and accessories.
• Verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the entered data in accordance with international standards and company guidelines.
• Validate completed work based on predefined quality criteria.
• Collaborate with the internal team to clarify product information and technical specifications.
• Interface with technicians from the partner software house for specialized support.
• Contribute to defining and standardizing data entry procedures.

Qualifications for the role

• Education: A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Technical Skills: proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; good knowledge of Building Information Modeling tools.
• Languages: Ability to communicate fluently in both Italian and English.
• Soft Skills: A proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
