Associate Director International HTA Strategy, Immunology

AbbVie HQ Europe is looking for an Associate Director, International HTA Strategy – Immunology. In this role, you will shape evidence and value strategies that support access to AbbVie’s immunology medicines. You will connect HTA (Health Technology Assessment)  insight, asset strategy and cross-functional evidence generation to ensure plans are globally aligned, decision-relevant and positioned for HTA and pricing success.

You will join a collaborative International HTA Strategy team and influence evidence-generation and development decisions that can help expand patient access to innovative therapies.

This role can be based in France, Germany and The UK.

What You'll Do

• Shape evidence strategies for assigned assets and disease areas by partnering with priority affiliates to identify HTA and access evidence requirements, value drivers and evidence gaps that may affect HTA outcomes.
• Lead early affiliate engagement through the Early Touchpoint process on behalf of International Market Access and Pricing (IMAP), translating priority-market HTA needs into clear recommendations for registrational clinical development and evidence-generation plans.
• Synthesize HTA decisions, payer precedents, policy developments, early scientific advice and external expert insights into strategic implications, options and recommendations for asset teams and governance bodies.
• Translate complex HTA requirements and evidence trade-offs into clear strategic choices for International Market Access and Pricing, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial teams, Areas, Affiliates and governance bodies.
• Lead the development of global payer evidence strategies and related deliverables, ensuring plans are differentiated, decision-relevant and aligned with HTA and payer needs.
• Partner with global colleagues, cross-functional evidence teams and external vendors to turn evidence strategy into high-quality, actionable outputs.
• Provide strategic leadership to Areas and Affiliates across HTA preparation, submission and follow-up activities.
• Align global evidence-generation functions—including Medical Affairs, HEOR, Value Analytics Center and Clinical Development—to anticipate evidence challenges, develop response strategies and address questions from HTA agencies.
• Build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across global, Area and Affiliate teams to create alignment around shared HTA priorities and implementation plans.

• Bachelor’s degree in health economics, life sciences, health services or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant experience in international market access, HTA, health economics, clinical development, biostatistics or Medical Affairs.
• Understanding of pricing, reimbursement and HTA processes in at least one key HTA market, including health-economic and evidence-synthesis principles.
• Demonstrated experience developing HTA evidence strategies and reimbursement submissions, and addressing evidence gaps relevant to value and cost-effectiveness.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex information, influence cross-functional stakeholders and deliver high-quality work in a global matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in immunology.
• Experience working across global, regional/Area and Affiliate environments.
• Familiarity with evidence planning for HTA preparation, submissions and post-submission engagement.
