Position Summary:

The Painter is responsible for preparing and applying protective and decorative coatings to various surfaces including equipment, structures, and metal components. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and adherence to project specifications and quality standards.   Acadian Contractors, Inc. maintains a continuing policy of non-discrimination in employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Conduct and review a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting any task.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, or blasting to remove old paint, rust, and contaminants.
• Apply coatings including paint, epoxy, enamel, and sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces such as various metal types for finishing.
• Mask and cover surfaces using tape, drop cloths, and paper to protect areas not to be painted.
• Ensure proper adhesion and uniformity of coatings through careful application and inspection.
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality and conformance to project specifications.
• Maintain all painting equipment in clean and serviceable condition.
• Follow proper disposal procedures for hazardous materials and paints.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping the area daily or as needed.
• Always present a positive and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years relevant experience
• High school or equivalent required
