Network Support Officer

Position : Network Support Officer 

Role:
Provides technical support for network and surveillance infrastructure by assisting in the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of computer networks and CCTV systems, supporting system reliability, security operations, and uninterrupted business connectivity across all company locations.

Accountabilities:
1. Network Support: Supports network administrators by gathering technical requirements from users and system owners, assisting in translating operational needs into network related actions, participating in implementation activities, analyzing incident details during outages, and executing assigned resolution steps under guidance ensuring stable, reliable, and well-supported network operations.

2. Design and Installation: Designs and installs computer network infrastructure by reviewing site requirements, planning cabling routes and connection points, installing and terminating cables, configuring switches and basic network devices, validating connectivity and performance, and documenting configurations ensuring scalable, functional, and properly commissioned network environments.

3. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots network issues by analyzing user-reported symptoms, checking connectivity paths, reviewing device configurations, testing network components, isolating root causes, applying corrective actions, and monitoring post-fix behavior ensuring sustained network efficiency and reduced recurrence of incidents.

4. Inspection and Maintenance: Inspects LAN infrastructure through routine checks of cabling, ports, switches, and workstations, identifies faults, performs corrective fixes where authorized by the senior engineer, escalates complex failures to administrators, and supports preventive maintenance activities to ensure continuous network availability and operational stability.

5. Planned Upgrades and Maintenance: Coordinates planned network upgrades and maintenance by scheduling activities with business users, preparing implementation steps, validating backup and rollback readiness, executing approved changes during agreed windows, and confirming system stability post-change, ensuring minimal disruption and controlled infrastructure modifications.

6. Vendor Coordination: Coordinates with vendors by requesting quotations, clarifying technical specifications, tracking delivery timelines, supporting on-site installations, verifying equipment functionality against requirements, and reporting discrepancies to the senior engineer to ensure timely availability and proper integration of network and system components.

7. CCTV Administration: Administers CCTV systems by supporting the security team with system access, guiding playback and video export activities, assisting during incident reviews, troubleshooting user access issues, and maintaining system usability ensuring effective security monitoring and incident investigation.

8. CCTV Data Backup: Oversees CCTV server backup activities by configuring backup schedules, monitoring backup completion, validating data integrity, reporting failures, and supporting restoration readiness when required, ensuring data protection, retention compliance, and continuity of surveillance records.
