Job Purpose: This position will be responsible for facilitating seamless operational coordination, stakeholder collaboration, and strategy implementation to ensure efficient shipping and logistics activities at the port
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end logistics operations for bulk commodities including Coal, Iron Ore, Fuel, Pet Coke, Limestone, and Mineral products.
- Coordinate vessel nominations, berthing plans, cargo discharge/loading activities, and clearance processes at ports.
- Monitor port operations including unloading, stockyard management, cargo evacuation, and dispatch planning.
- Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, customs, stevedores, surveyors, and transport vendors.
- Ensure timely availability of rakes, trucks, barges, and other transportation modes for cargo movement.
- Track cargo movement from port to customer locations, plants, warehouses, and stockyards.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) of vessels, trucks, and rail rakes to minimize logistics costs.
- Prepare and validate logistics documentation including Bills of Lading, Delivery Orders, E-Way Bills, railway documents, and customs-related documents.
- Coordinate inventory reconciliation between port stock, warehouse stock, and customer dispatch records.
- Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for transportation and operational cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and port regulations.
- Generate MIS reports related to cargo handling, demurrage, detention, freight costs, vessel performance, and dispatch status.
- Handle logistics contracts, vendor performance reviews, and service-level agreement monitoring.
- Support business teams in ensuring uninterrupted supply of commodities to customers and plants.
