At Adaptic, Systems Engineers help connect mission needs, technical requirements, and system design to build solutions that perform where it matters. Supporting the DoD and Intelligence Community, you’ll work across teams and technologies to help guide complex systems throughout their lifecycle.
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who can move comfortably between requirements, architecture, integration, testing, and mission priorities—while keeping technical teams aligned around a common vision.
Your Impact
You’ll play a key role in shaping and coordinating complex technical solutions. Day-to-day, that can look like:
- Developing and documenting CONOPS, operational/system requirements, and use cases
- Translating operational needs into actionable technical requirements
- Performing high-level system design
- Defining system/component performance and interface requirements
- Developing installation, integration, and acceptance test strategies and plans
- Coordinating across customers, project teams, and partner organizations to ensure solutions satisfy requirements
- Assessing existing processes and engineering work products to identify improvements
- Supporting systems throughout design, development, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and support
- Helping product teams establish and maintain a shared technical and architectural vision
- Working across technical disciplines to resolve system-level challenges and keep solutions aligned with mission objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field + 7 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree + 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Doctoral degree + 3 years of relevant experience
- Relevant technical fields may include Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
- Relevant experience must involve engineering systems across their lifecycle, including areas such as conception, design and development, testing, production, deployment, operations, maintenance, support, and decommissioning.
