Registered Nurse- Specialty Float

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse utilizes his/her knowledge, judgment, and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients under his/her supervision. The Registered Nurse practice involved diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential problems, and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. In addition, it is a role of collaboration, coordination of services, and patient/family education.

Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
2. BSN preferred. Other Bachelor’s degrees will be considered as applicable on a case-by-case basis.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques.
4. Previous nursing experience, including a minimum of one year of medical/surgical or other in-hospital experience strongly preferred.
5. Previous nursing experience in outpatient clinics preferred.
6. BLS required, ACLS and PALS required within one year of hire.
