    Job Description:

    Schedule Options: Monday thru Friday 6:45am - 5:15pm and Saturday 9am-3pm.  Department requirement for Per Diem role is 12 shifts every 6 weeks with one Saturday Shift.

    Required Training: 4 day weekly 10‑hour shifts for approximately 4–8 weeks depending on experience level. 

    Per Diem Rate: $43.33

    • Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect.
    • Makes appropriate decisions and conducts interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs.
    • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
    • Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed.
    • Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.
    • Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population.
    • Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety.
    • Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Organizational and multi-tasking skills [Required]
    • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures [Required]
    • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit [Required]
    • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills [Required]
    • EKG (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) [Required]

    Education:

    • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
    • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

    Work Experience:

    • 1+ Years [Preferred]

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
    • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
