Senior Designer

Adyen is seeking a Senior Designer, Digital who can turn strategy, product stories, and business goals into thoughtful, high-impact digital work. Please include a portfolio with your application. If your portfolio is password-protected, be sure to provide access details so we can review your work.

Based in San Francisco or New York City, this role will design and evolve landing pages, campaign experiences, paid media, lifecycle touchpoints, and other digital assets that balance brand expression, usability, and performance.

You’ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Content, Brand, Product, and external partners, while taking ownership of projects from brief through delivery. You’ll present and advocate for creative decisions, clearly communicating your rationale and building stakeholder alignment along the way. You bring broad design experience, deep digital expertise, and the judgment to create work that not only looks great, but performs and scales.

What you’ll do:

• Create high-quality design across websites, campaigns, and brand systems, aligned with Adyen’s brand and business goals.
• Lead website design from early exploration through high-fidelity execution, including wireframes, page designs, prototypes, and supporting digital assets.
• Design responsive experiences with a strong understanding of breakpoints, flexible layouts, browser behavior, accessibility, and common web integrations.
• Build scalable Figma systems using components, Auto Layout, variables, shared styles, and reusable patterns that improve speed and consistency.
• Bring a strong point of view to concept development, applying craft across layout, typography, color, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
• Translate brand strategy, business objectives, and audience insights into clear, effective creative solutions.
• Present and advocate for creative decisions, clearly communicating design rationale and building stakeholder alignment.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure digital experiences are achievable, scalable, and executed to a high standard.
• Manage and direct freelancers and creative agencies, providing clear briefs, feedback, and creative oversight.
• Proactively identify risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle, helping keep work aligned and moving forward.

Who you are: 

• 7+ years of professional design experience, whether in-house or agency.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-craft digital work and clear business or audience impact.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Framer, with experience building scalable design systems and component libraries.
• Experience creating responsive, interactive web experiences, including prototypes that communicate functionality, transitions, motion, and responsive behavior.
• Working knowledge of AI tools to support ideation, prototyping, and production efficiency.
• Experience managing and directing agencies, freelancers, and external creative partners.
• Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Able to independently own projects from brief through delivery while staying open to feedback and iteration.
• Bonus: Experience creating prototypes and interaction examples that clearly communicate functionality, responsive behavior, transitions, and web animation to clients and development teams
