Job Summary
The Senior Bank Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for the efficient preparation of monthly bank reconciliatons of the managed properties according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and also training of bank reconciliation analysts as well as review of the bank reconciliations completed by them. Also assists with training and tasks in the core accounting team.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred with 1-3 years’ experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Blackline matching tool a plus.
- Requires extensive knowledge of and experience with bank reconciliations.
- Strong leadership coordination and coaching skills.
- Requires thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking/analytical ability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete bank reconciliations for a portfolio of hotels; coordinate closely with hotel and central accounting teams to ensure banking related activity is recorded accurately and outstanding items are timely resolved.
- Trains Bank Reconciliation Analysts on completing bank reconciliations according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
- Assists with the resolution of accounting discrepancies and issues with both the central accounting team and the Bank Reconciliation Analysts.
- Assists with developing and maintaining policies and procedures and systems of internal control for the Bank Reconciliation Group
- Assists with the distribution of responsibilities and performance of Bank Reconciliation Analysts
- Participates in meetings and on committees as requested by supervisors.
- Assists with annual staff performance assessment as needed.
- Adheres to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
- Perform monthly closing duties as assigned.
- Prepare Journal entries as necessary for bank transactions and corrections.
- Resolve reconciling items through research and initiate adjustments as needed by payroll A/P or GL.
- Perform special projects or other tasks as assigned.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and provide recommendations to improve processes and quality of information presented.
- Some duties will vary based on agreements and/or owner requirements and/or separate Monthly Responsibilities/Month End Responsibilities.
