Material Technician - 3rd Shift

How would you contribute? 

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Material Technician you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Material Tech is responsible for rail car hookup and placement of empty and full resin railcars, coordinating shipping and receiving of regrind material, assisting with grinding and pelletizing, and supporting the resin blending process as needed.

Essential Duties: 

• Receive, verify and account for incoming resin deliveries. Follow proper procedures and HAACP controls to hookup resin railcars and/or bulk trucks to empty into silos.
• Maintain all associated paperwork regarding raw material receiving, inventory and consumption.
• Create and disseminate reports regarding resin inventory and railcar placement.
• Assist with grinding and pelletizing by loading conveyors belt of grinders and utilizing motorized rolling stock to move full gaylords of ground material to the loading area.
• Maintain custom blending of raw or reground resin material as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate blending equipment to standards.
• Engage with production and support departments to determine status of raw materials and obsolete product.
• Meet safety and housekeeping expectations.
• Maintain company attendance standards, including weekend work as assigned and adhering to daily work schedules.
• Report food safety concerns to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Motorized rolling stock certification required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to wet, humid, hot or cold conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
