Landscaping Laborer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Monitors the entire landscape or designated area of the university.

• Plants, waters, sprinkle installation, and all-around tending to any plants, shrubs, or trees.

• Performs groundskeeping tasks like sod laying, mowing, mulching, edging, pruning, fertilizing, digging, raking, and other lawn/plants or tree care maintenance duties.

• Monitors and maintains plant' health.

• Removing unwanted or damaged plants/ trees.

• Installs of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• A high school certificate, with a minimum of 2 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

• Demonstrates good hand skills, landscaping tools or equipment familiarity, and teamwork.
• Demonstrate competency in specific materials, methods, tools, equipment, and techniques required to complete required tasks safely and responsibly.
• Ability to work with landscaping hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials.
• Excellent stamina is required.
• Capable of operating landscaping tools or equipment.
• General knowledge about the landscape.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Demonstrates good hand skills, landscaping tools or equipment familiarity, and teamwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work outdoors/ indoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Work is performed with physical effort as required. 
• Work can be strenuous and may involve considerable lifting, carrying, and bending with exposure to physical risk.
