We provide support for Akamai's global Infrastructure teams so they can deploy and maintain the networks that power Akamai products and services. Our primary responsibility is management of hardware procurement and distribution. On the Server Procurement team, we focus on planning, buying, and all-inclusive asset management of network servers.

In this role, you will work closely with external parties such as Server Manufacturers, 3PLs, Carriers, Repair Vendors, as well as with many internal stakeholders on teams in Cloud Technology Group and Finance group.

As a Supply Chain Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the procurement relationship with server vendors, providing feedback for vendor scorecards and participating in quarterly business reviews.
• Participating in cross-functional meetings to understand strategies and aligning procurement decisions with short-term and long-term objectives.
• Collaborating with Engineering, Design, Program Management, and Planning to integrate new products and technologies while managing roadmap risk and outdated inventory.
• Addressing material shortages and unexpected conditions while collaborating with business groups to understand component roles and impacts of delays.
• Monitoring pending deployments and suggesting inter-warehouse transfers, project sequencing, and equipment substitutions to optimize timeliness and overall deployment costs.
• Demonstrating urgency in researching, tracking, and resolving supply issues efficiently by collaborating with vendors for timely, cost-effective solutions.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years of experience in forecasting/procurement and a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent.
• Have experience utilizing tools like Oracle, Siebel, Tableau, Anaplan, and SQL commonly employed at Akamai for various operational tasks.
• Show Project and Vendor Management experience
• Demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities in both financial and operational contexts.
• Perform detailed tasks independently with precision and accuracy, ensuring exceptional outcomes in all responsibilities undertaken.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and intercultural communication abilities in both written and verbal formats effectively and professionally

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $76,100 - $136,900/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
