    • Dispatch company drivers and tank-wagon equipment on local and regional routes.
    • Assign loads and provide drivers with accurate delivery instructions, route information, and customer requirements.
    • Monitor routes and delivery progress using GPS, dispatch, and fleet-management systems.
    • Adjust routes and schedules in response to traffic, customer changes, equipment issues, weather, and other unexpected conditions.
    • Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, terminals, and internal departments.
    • Confirm delivery completion and maintain accurate dispatch, order, driver-hour, and delivery records.
    • Help optimize routes, equipment utilization, and driver productivity.
    • Respond promptly to delivery questions, service issues, and time-sensitive customer requests.
    • Coordinate with operations, sales, accounting, and customer-service teams to resolve order or scheduling concerns.
    • Support compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
    • Assist with emergency and after-hours operational coverage when needed.
    • Contribute to a safe, respectful, and team-oriented workplace.

    Requirements

    What We’re Looking For

    • Previous dispatch, routing, transportation, logistics, or fleet-coordination experience.
    • Fuel, petroleum, lubricant, tanker, or hazardous-material transportation experience is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of dispatch systems, GPS tracking, routing tools, and fleet-management technology.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other common office applications.
    • Familiarity with Chicago-area roads, traffic patterns, and surrounding Midwest service regions.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and recordkeeping ability.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple deliveries and make sound decisions under time pressure.
    • A calm, professional, and customer-focused approach to unexpected problems.
    • Commitment to transportation safety, accuracy, teamwork, and reliable service.
    • Availability to provide occasional weekend, holiday, emergency, or after-hours assistance.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience dispatching fuel or other regulated bulk-liquid products.
    • Familiarity with DOT hours-of-service requirements and transportation documentation.
    • Experience coordinating local and regional commercial deliveries.
