Draughtsperson

The Draughtsperson will collaborate closely with a team of Engineers and technical designers on the draughting of shop drawings and administrative roles for diverse fire protection and security projects.  This position requires exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and a pro-active approach to contribute effectively to the design and implementation phases of the projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design Preparation:

• Prepare accurate shop drawings and draft systems for various projects.
• Assist in projects from inception to completion, including reviewing tender costings, prepare construction drawings using AutoCad, prepare material take-offs, and updating Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to reflect design changes.
• Deliver shop drawings on time, meeting customer specifications, and adhering to designed quality standards.

Design Coordination:

• Coordinate design matters with Engineers and technical designers.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure the accurate execution of designs and shop drawings.

Workload Management:

• Set, monitor, review work-load schedule, proactively communicating issues to the manager as they may arise.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving design issues to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, design standards and familiarize and adopt to any client specific SOPs.
• Oversee project activities, ensuring appropriate methods are employed and company standards (ISO, LPCB) are implemented.
• Maintain updated records, sort documents, respond promptly to client enquiries, and conduct regular follow-ups.
• Promote and maintain awareness of health and safety in line with local legislation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proficiency in using AutoCad software.
• Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical drafting for fire protection and security projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Ideally hold a valid Maltese driving license.
