    Job description

Field Service Technician | Diesel Fitter

Join an ASX-listed engineering company where no two days are the same.

Alfabs Group is a leading Australian engineering and manufacturing company delivering innovative solutions to the mining, infrastructure, ports and construction industries.

Based at our Kurri Kurri facility, Alfabs Mining Equipment designs, manufactures, repairs and supports specialised underground mining equipment, including QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move and Material Handling Equipment used across Australia's mining industry.

We're looking for an experienced Diesel Fitter / Field Service Technician who enjoys getting on the tools, solving problems and working across both our modern workshop and customer mine sites.

This role offers excellent variety—spend time rebuilding and maintaining equipment in the workshop while also supporting customers in the field with breakdowns, servicing and commissioning work.

    Why You'll Love This Role

    • Permanent full-time position with overtime available
    • Excellent hourly rates based on experience
    • Variety of workshop and field service work
    • Work on specialised underground mining equipment
    • Supportive team with genuine career progression
    • Employee rewards, discounted gym memberships, novated leasing and more
    • Join a stable ASX-listed company with a strong pipeline of work

    The Role

    You'll be responsible for:

    • Servicing, maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment
    • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults
    • Performing breakdown and scheduled maintenance at customer sites
    • Assisting with equipment builds, upgrades and commissioning
    • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
    • Working safely while delivering high-quality workmanship
    • Building strong relationships with customers and site personnel

    About You

    You will ideally have:

    • Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar
    • Experience working on underground mining or heavy mobile equipment
    • Strong fault-finding and hydraulic diagnostic skills
    • DES experience and ticket (highly regarded)
    • Current Driver Licence
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
    • Strong commitment to safety and quality
    • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required

    Desirable

    • Certificate IV in Hydraulics
    • Forklift Licence
    • Current Coal Board Medical

    Ready for a Change?

If you're looking for more than just another workshop role—or you're tired of being on the road full-time—this position offers the perfect balance. You'll enjoy the stability of a workshop environment while still getting out into the field to solve real-world problems and support customers across the mining industry.

Apply today and become part of a team that's building, servicing and supporting some of Australia's leading underground mining equipment.
