    Job description

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Embeds specially designed instruction and differentiates instruction through small and large group activities to align with the students’ individual IEP outcomes and support student progress. 

    2. Manages the classroom environment by providing leadership and guidance to paraprofessionals to ensure positive student outcomes. 

    1. Participates in the identification of eligible young children by administering screenings and assessments, and completing Evaluation Report and IEP Development to ensure compliance with Child Find mandate.

    1. Maintains compliance of required special education paperwork by completing reevaluation reports, IEP development and data collection and other supporting documentation to ensure progress on student outcomes and compliance with local, state and federal regulations. 

    2. Remains current with new and effective practices, program procedures, laws and regulations by attending professional development to comply with Preschool Early Intervention program requirements.  

    3. Represents and promotes the AIU and Preschool Early Intervention by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships that effectively support families and advance student outcomes. 

    Qualifications:

    1. Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-8 required

    2. Valid PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 preferred

    3. Experience working with the preschool population in Early Childhood Environments preferred

    4. Effective verbal and written communication skills

    5. Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups

    6. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and interpersonal

    7. Excellent collaboration and leadership skills

    8. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

    9. Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible

    10. Ability to travel throughout the County required

    11. Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct policy

    Additional Requirements: 

    1. Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR clearances required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).

    2. School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.

    5. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating with limited English-speaking customers

    6. Hearing clearly

    7. Adequate vision to perform duties
