We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Hospice Billing Clerk to join our Revenue Cycle team. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, keeping things organized, and being part of a team that makes a difference in healthcare, we’d love to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
As a Hospice Billing Clerk, you’ll play an important role in keeping our billing operations accurate, timely, and running smoothly.
You will:
- Prepare and submit hospice claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and other payers.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and billing information.
- Monitor claims and follow up on rejections, denials, and outstanding balances.
- Assist with accounts receivable and timely payment resolution.
- Identify and correct billing discrepancies.
- Work closely with clinical, admissions, medical records, and administrative teams.
- Maintain accurate information in the EMR and billing systems.
- Assist with audits and payer requests.
- Follow Medicare, Medicaid, Louisiana, HIPAA, and organizational billing requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous medical billing, healthcare administration, or accounts receivable experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of hospice billing experience required.
- Medicare and/or Medicaid billing experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working with computers and multiple systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet important billing deadlines.
