Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. The Opportunity
Responsible for managing the results of software development teams, to ensure software solutions are built according to company standards and are compliant with business requirements. Reviews and evaluates the performance of the development teams and of the individuals on theteams. Ultimately accountable for project deliverables, budgets, schedules and quality. Serves as the primary interface with IT and business partners on software development projects. This position will report to a Director of Software Development and may have responsibility for directly managing one or more development resources.The Work Itself
Liaison between product, architecture, and development team members.
Works directly with product owners to ensure stories contain the right balance of technical direction, best practices, and level of detail.
Coordinates projects with Engineering and Operations team to reduce impact on application development teams, including build-out of new development environments.
Drives continuous improvement through coaching, pair programming, code review processes, and round table discussions.
Instills strong focus and best practices for creation and maintenance of high-quality deliverables.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support
Write and review codebase for Payments Technology applications using multiple programming languages
Develop solutions utilizing both backend and frontend technologies on AWS cloud
Build RESTful APIs using modern frameworks and industry best practice
Create responsive, user-friendly frontend applications using React Native
Implement consistent UI components and design patterns using Metronome design system
Design and deploy containerized applications using AWS ECS
The Qualifications We’re Looking For
5+ years of software development experience using Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Java, or Python, with a demonstrated ability to build clean, maintainable, and scalable applications at an enterprise level
3+ years of frontend development experience using React or React Native, with strong preference for hands-on expertise building cross-platform mobile and web applications
Experience with Metronome or similar design systems to deliver consistent, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces
Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using modern frameworks, best practices, and scalable service patterns
Strong proficiency with Terraform, Git, GitLab, GitHub, and shell scripting to support efficient source control and DevOps workflows
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services — including ECS, Lambda, and Route 53 — and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to build and support cloud-native solutions
Solid understanding of microservices, serverless, and event-driven architecture patterns, including message queue-based integrations
Experience using AI-powered development and testing tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate code delivery, test generation, and quality analysis
Strong foundation in software design patterns, clean code principles, problem-solving, and database technologies including SQL and NoSQL
Familiarity with modern engineering practices and tools such as Docker, ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, observability platforms, feature flags, and security testing aligned to OWASP best practices
Demonstrated leadership ability — mentoring engineers, driving technical decisions, and fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the adaptability to thrive in a multi-squad environment and a passion for innovation and production excellence
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent

Base Pay Range
$110,000.00 - $180,000.00
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation:
This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
