    Job description

    Overview

The Associate Director owns the learning strategy and capability roadmap for US Market Access and Strategic Accounts field teams. This role translates business priorities, customer dynamics, and field performance needs into differentiated learning journeys for Health Systems Directors, the Alternative Site of Care team, Federal Reimbursement Directors and Managers, Federal Account Leads, National Account Leads, and Regional Account Leads. The Associate Director serves as a strategic training partner to field and headquarters leaders, setting priorities and leading compliant execution across onboarding, launches, national meetings, and ongoing development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own and evolve a multi-year, role-specific learning strategy and annual priorities for Market Access and Strategic Accounts teams; align the roadmap with business strategy, launch plans, evolving field roles, and customer needs.
    • Partner directly with senior field leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to diagnose capability gaps, recommend interventions, resolve competing priorities, and define measurable learning outcomes.
    • Translate payer, reimbursement, health system, federal channel, alternative site of care, and strategic account dynamics into practical training that reflects the distinct responsibilities and customer interactions of each audience.
    • Lead the design and governance of new-hire onboarding, advanced curricula, field coaching resources, facilitator preparation, and continuing education; connect learning to real account planning and field application.
    • Direct training support for launches and major commercial initiatives, including readiness plans, national meetings, workshops, and follow-through after training.
    • Guide content development and medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance review in partnership with the appropriate functions; ensure approved materials are used and training remains within role and promotional boundaries.
    • Establish measures of readiness and effectiveness, use field insights and performance data to adjust the strategy, and communicate recommendations and results to leadership.
    • Lead cross-functional project teams and external learning partners; set deliverables, manage timelines and resources, and ensure quality and consistency across programs.
    • Explore and apply appropriate learning technologies, including digital practice, assessment, analytics, and AI-enabled tools, within company policies and approved processes.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
    • Substantial pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, including successful performance in a relevant customer-facing field role such as field reimbursement, market access, health systems, or strategic accounts.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and leading commercial training strategy, curricula, and field learning programs, with evidence of translating field experience into effective learning.
    • Strong knowledge of the US payer and reimbursement landscape and the ability to apply that knowledge to account-focused field roles; experience with multiple access channels or customer types preferred.
    • Experience advising senior stakeholders, leading through a matrix, and making sound recommendations where priorities and role needs differ.
    • Experience supporting product launches or major commercial initiatives and navigating medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance review.
    • Strong facilitation, communication, analytical, project leadership, and vendor management skills.
    • Ability to travel up to 20%.
