Position Summary

The Civil/Environmental Engineer will support the evaluation and rehabilitation design at local transportation rail stations. The role will assist with site assessments, existing-condition evaluations, and the development of practical repair and rehabilitation solutions. The engineer will coordinate with structural, architectural, and other multidisciplinary team members to address site, drainage, environmental, access, and constructability considerations.

• Assess existing site conditions and civil interfaces that may affect structural repairs and rehabilitation.
• Evaluate drainage, grading, utilities, site access, and surrounding infrastructure.
• Identify environmental constraints, permitting requirements, and regulatory compliance considerations.
• Coordinate with the structural design team to address civil and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and/or review applicable civil and environmental components of design documents.
• Support field investigations and document existing site conditions.
• Coordinate civil and environmental design requirements across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Incorporate constructability, access, and operational considerations into civil and environmental design solutions.
• Experience with transportation facilities, field investigations, and multidisciplinary coordination is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in civil and/or environmental engineering.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000

Physical Requirements The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 1/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 2/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 2/3 of the day.

This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 70 pounds on an infrequent basis.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
