The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing all Electrical works across construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, local authority regulations, and safety standards. The role involves managing manpower, ensuring quality installation, coordinating with other trades, and supporting smooth project execution.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction and electrical activities on site.
- Lead electricians, helpers, and assistants; assign tasks and monitor productivity.
- Prepare daily work plans and arrange manpower, materials, tools, and equipment requirements.
- Read and execute works as per approved shop drawings, coordination drawings, and project specifications.
- Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with quality standards and project timelines.
- Ensure all installations comply with local authority regulations (DEWA/ADDC) and project requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, clients, engineers, and other trades (Civil, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting) to ensure smooth execution and avoid clashes.
- Resolve site-related issues and support consultant/client inspections.
- Maintain daily/weekly progress reports and records of construction activities.
- Enforce HSE regulations, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with PPE and safety procedures.
- Control material usage, minimize wastage, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Assist engineers in evaluating workforce performance and technical competency.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supervising electrical works within construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices, wiring systems, GI conduits, and cable tray installations
- Hands-on experience with LV switchgear installations, cable terminations, earthing, and lightning protection systems
- Good understanding of DEWA, ADDC, and other local authority regulations and installation requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, load schedules, and specifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate site teams effectively
- Experience in ELV systems installation is an added advantage
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for reporting and documentation
