    Job description

Are you passionate about addressing the climate crisis through transportation sustainability? If so, then join our growing team and help work toward dramatically reducing transportation-sector emissions by 2050. At the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), you’ll be part of an organization that makes a difference toward a cleaner, more equitable transportation system.

    About ACEEE

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) advances solutions that lower bills, cut energy waste and climate pollution, and build a more reliable, equitable energy system for all. We are an independent nonprofit that works across buildings, transportation, the power sector, and industry, bringing together rigorous research, policy expertise, and technical assistance to deliver real savings for households and businesses. Since 1980, we have partnered with policymakers, utilities, community organizations, and the private sector to scale what works.

ACEEE's culture is collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to our mission and an emphasis on results. We invest in professional development at every career stage, offer in-person, hybrid, and remote roles, and hold ourselves to fair, transparent practices in how we hire, pay, and promote.

    The Opportunity

ACEEE seeks a research analyst to conduct research and to work directly with local and state governments on projects that aim to transform the transportation sector.

The analyst will be a member of ACEEE’s transportation program, which works to drive policy and program innovation among local and state governments, utilities, and critical private-sector stakeholders. The transportation program covers a variety of topics, including electrification of freight and passenger vehicles, better integrated land use and transportation policy, stringent fuel efficiency standards, and improved multimodal transportation infrastructure.

The analyst will contribute to the transportation program’s work across these areas through research, analysis, and outreach. A prominent focus of the analyst’s work will be advancing cross-cutting strategies to improve the energy efficiency of the transportation sector while also creating a more equitable and accessible transportation system.
