    Job description

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is accepting applications for the Principal and Assistant Principal positions for the 2025-2026 school year.

Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore provide a Christ-centered education that is academically excellent and empowers students to reach their full potential - spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and morally. There are currently 40 elementary and middle schools, including: Baltimore City, Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, and Washington Counties - with 24,000 students! The National Blue Ribbon Schools' award is the highest honor bestowed upon schools by the United States Department of Educations. Five Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore have achieved this award!

    Essential Functions:

    Principals

Our Principals oversee the total educational program of the school and are directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school. They assure programs that deal with the Catholic identity of the school are planned, implemented, and evaluated. They ensure that instruction is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school. Our Principals directly report to the Pastor/Superintendent who review performance annually.

Our Principals implement the Roman Catholic Church's educational ministry for the school and the community it serves, insuring its Catholic identity. As such, the Principal provides leadership that attracts and retains excellent faculty and staff, ensuring that academic goals are achieved, and the school's accreditation is maintained. It is important that our Principals be fully supportive of parish activities, ensuring that school activities are integrated with other parish activities outside of the normal school week (e.g., key events where school families are present) whenever possible.

    Assistant Principals

As a member of the School Leadership team, our Assistant Principal assists the Principal with all day-to-day operations of the school, overseeing that instruction is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school. In conjunction with the Principal, the Assistant Principal assures that programs that deal with the Catholic identity of the school are planned, implemented, and evaluated as directed by the Department of Catholic Schools.
