Surveyors measure land features, such as depth and shape, based on reference points. They examine previous land records to verify data from on-site surveys. Surveyors also prepare maps and reports, and present results to clients.

Responsibilities
- Complete various field survey operations as assigned, including but not limited to:
- Total Station accurate set of angles and high accuracy levelling lops for Surface and Tunnel control network.
- Total Station/GPS surveys, lay-outs and As-Builts.
- Other surface and tunnel survey works as requested.
- Setup and configure survey equipment
- Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
- Helps maintaining and verifying the control network.
- Maintain accurate survey notes and records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
- Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required.
- Communicate with operations, engineers and subcontractors to complete assigned tasks.
- Manage As-Built information and digital records.
- Maintain and follow health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work varying shifts as required by the project timelines.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment under different weather and environmental conditions including noise, dust, cold and hot weather, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field, professional licensure or certification in advantageous.
- 2-3 years of experience in land surveying, with proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Ontario Land Surveyor experience considered an asset.
- Proficiency in surveying instruments, software and geographic information systems (GIS).
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land laws, and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, communication and time management abilities.
- Effective decision-making critical thinking skills.
- Valid G Class Driver's License Required
