We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Paralegal to join Shakespeare Martineau's Real Estate Finance team. Working closely with Partners, Associates and clients, you will support a broad range of real estate finance transactions across both investment and development matters.
This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a unique and highly regarded practice area, working with a diverse client base including banks, financial institutions, developers, investors and corporate occupiers. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, developing your technical and commercial expertise while contributing to complex and high-value transactions.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering a high standard of work and is keen to build a long-term career within Real Estate Finance.
    • Supporting fee earners on a variety of Real Estate Finance transactions from instruction through to completion.
    • Reviewing title documentation and undertaking due diligence exercises.
    • Drafting and preparing reports on title and associated transaction documents.
    • Assisting with the management of property aspects of financing structures.
    • Raising and responding to enquiries and liaising with borrowers, lenders, agents and other solicitors.
    • Carrying out legal research and assisting with transaction-specific requirements where required.
    • Supporting completion and post-completion processes, ensuring all relevant matters are dealt with accurately and efficiently.
    • Managing your workload effectively while maintaining excellent client service standards.
    • Previous Paralegal experience within Real Estate, Commercial Property, Real Estate Finance or Banking would be advantageous, but is not essential.
    • A sound understanding of conveyancing and property transaction processes.
    • Experience reviewing title documentation and conducting property due diligence.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients and professional contacts.
    • Experience using case management systems and legal technology platforms.
    • A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and enthusiasm for developing specialist expertise.
We embrace agile working and offer a blended approach to where and how we work.
We appreciate that people have different needs and preferences and we’re keen to be flexible, after all, we value what you do, not where you do it.
We have the following hubs across the UK: Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Sheffield, Stratford upon Avon & Tunbridge Wells.
