    Job description

At Ampol, we believe in the Power of Us - the extraordinary power of people to connect, act, and make a difference.

As a leading energy company operating across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and from the United States, our work spans fuel supply, energy solutions, convenience retail, infrastructure, trading and shipping. Every role at Ampol plays a part in something bigger - powering progress for our customers, communities, and people.

Your career here is yours to shape. We back our people with real opportunities, the tools to grow, and a culture that rewards ownership and initiative. Whether you’re deepening your expertise or taking on something new, we’ll support you to power a career that works for you.

We’re building a workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued - because when people are free to be themselves, powerful things happen.

    About the role

Ampol is seeking an experienced Change Manager to lead the people side of the Commercial Fuels & Energy division’s Operating Model Transformation, a strategic multi-year program supporting the delivery of CFE's 2030 strategy. Based in Alexandria, Sydney on a 12-month max-term contract, this role will play a critical part in helping leaders and employees successfully navigate significant change across people, process, technology and ways of working.

Working within Ampol's hybrid change model, you will be embedded within the business while remaining closely connected to the central Group Change function. Partnering with senior leaders, People & Culture and cross-functional stakeholders, you will build readiness, drive adoption and ensure sustainable implementation of a new operating model. This is an opportunity for a pragmatic and influential change professional who can balance consistent group people change experience with a pragmatic, business-focused approach.

    Key responsibilities

    • Lead the people change strategy and delivery for the CFE Operating Model Transformation.
    • Build strong stakeholder relationships and drive engagement across CFE and the broader Ampol Group.
    • Assess and manage impacts across organisation design, roles, accountabilities, decision rights, processes, systems and ways of working.
    • Partner closely with People & Culture to support organisation design and people-related change impacts.
    • Develop and execute change, communication, readiness and adoption plans aligned to program milestones.
    • Facilitate leadership alignment, sponsorship and ownership of change outcomes.
    • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, people change risks, resistance and change fatigue.
    • Design and deliver workshops, engagement activities, learning initiatives and change interventions.
    • Monitor readiness, adoption and embedment outcomes, using insights to continually refine the change approach

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Significant experience leading change management initiatives within large, complex organisations.
    • Demonstrated success delivering operating model transformations involving organisation design, governance, roles, processes and ways of working.
    • Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building across all organisational levels.
    • Experience partnering with senior leaders, executive sponsors and cross-functional project teams to drive adoption.
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage competing priorities within evolving environments.
    • Experience assessing and managing business impacts, dependencies, change risks and organisational readiness.
    • Strong communication, facilitation and change coaching skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical outcomes.
    • A pragmatic, resilient and collaborative approach, with experience working in operational, industrial, manufacturing, FMCG, mining or similarly complex environments.

    Benefits

    • Our total remuneration is competitive.
    • We are flexible. Many of our teams have embraced hybrid work, balancing time spent remote working, with time spent at an office to connect and work together where it adds value.
    • We value recognition.  We have an internal recognition platform amplifying the achievements of those who do great work and demonstrate our capabilities and values.
    • Career development and learning opportunities including LinkedIn Learning and other tailored training solutions.
