Position Summary
The Temporary Pre/Post Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role performs patient assessments, prepares patients for procedures, administers medications as ordered, and provides comprehensive post-procedure monitoring, recovery care, and patient education to ensure safe discharge and optimal outcomes.
This position provides temporary coverage and supports the Center in maintaining efficient clinical operations while delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. The Temporary Pre/Post RN collaborates closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other clinical team members to ensure exceptional patient experiences and quality outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Provide attentive pre-procedure and post-anesthesia recovery care while monitoring patient status.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and communicate changes in condition appropriately.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Deliver patient and family education, including discharge instructions and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, infection prevention practices, and clinical standards.
- Support a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environment.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote patient, physician, and colleague satisfaction through professional and compassionate care.

Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience required.
- GI, Endoscopy, PACU, OR, or Acute Care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist with patient movement up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity necessary to perform clinical procedures and patient care activities.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, disinfecting agents, and medical equipment.
- Work in procedure and recovery areas with occasional reduced lighting.
- Schedule and hours may vary based on patient volume and Center needs.
