Andile: Capital Markets Graduate Programme

Andile's Graduate Programme is a six-month accelerator into the world of Capital and Financial Markets. It is deliberately intense: you will build deep domain knowledge, learn to work fluently with the full range of technologies we use, AI included, rotate across our business areas, deepen your practical understanding of the world of markets, and build positive, lasting relationships  - all inside half a year.

We designed it this way on purpose. Six months gets you to real, valuable work sooner, and will assist you to make an impact in your career quicker.

1.     How the Six Months Work

• Month 1: Foundations

Structured training in Capital and Financial Markets: instruments, the trade lifecycle, risk, settlement and regulation. Alongside this, you will complete our AI Fluency Foundation - learning to use AI tools properly, critically and safely in a regulated financial environment. Both streams are assessed.

• Months 2–3: Rotations

Exposure across Andile's business areas and platforms - Calypso, FinMio Risk, Front Arena and FinMechanics - working with the teams who deliver them. You will see how the same market problem looks from a business-systems analyst's and an engineer's chair.

• Months 4–6: Specialisation

You settle into one of our business units for focused, deeper technical training and your first client exposure.

2.  AI Is Part of the Job Now - So It Is Part of the Programme

We are not adding AI to this programme as a talking point. We are building it in because the analyst and engineer roles our graduates’ step into have already changed.

You will learn to:

• Use AI coding and analysis tools to work faster on real client deliverables - and to know when their output cannot be trusted
• Apply AI to genuine capital markets problems: reconciliation exceptions, test coverage, data quality, documentation and automation.
• Work within the governance that regulated financial clients require - what may be shared with a model, what may not, and why that line matters
• Explain and defend your reasoning, because the judgement layer is the part AI does not replace

• Work alongside agents that do the work, not just advise on it - you set the task, hold the boundaries and answer for the output

Our honest position: AI has not reduced the need for graduates. It has raised the bar on what a graduate is expected to contribute in their first year. This programme is built for that bar.

Never studied capital markets? That is fine - most of our graduates hadn't. We teach the domain. What we cannot teach is curiosity and grit.

6.     Qualifications

• Minimum 65% average across all years of study
• One of the following degrees (completed or in your final year):
  • Bachelor of Business Science
  • Bachelor of Commerce Honours
  • Bachelor of Accounting
  • Bachelor of Finance and Investment Management
  • Bachelor or BSc of Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Science
  • Bachelor of Mathematics and Statistics
  • Bachelor of Industrial Engineering
