The Role
As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a key role in the evolution of Wellbeing Gateway, APM’s global workforce health and wellbeing platform.
This is an opportunity to be part of a team to help build the next generation of Wellbeing Gateway as the platform evolves from a wellbeing content experience into a more personalised and intelligent workforce health solution supporting APM businesses and customers across multiple regions.
Working closely with the Product and Development team, together you will design, build and support secure, scalable and maintainable digital products. You will also work with the team to support, maintain and progressively transition knowledge from the existing platform and its legacy technology stack.
In this role you will:
- Design, develop, test and deliver new functionality across Wellbeing Gateway.
- Build and maintain modern front-end, back-end, API, integration and data-layer components.
- Independently own complex features or services from design and estimation through implementation, release and production support.
- Work closely with Product and Development to understand outcomes, break down requirements, identify technical options and communicate trade-offs, dependencies and risks.
- Participate in planning, stand-ups, technical workshops, peer reviews and other agreed Agile delivery practices.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, development standards and practical technical decisions within agreed governance.
- Write secure, maintainable, extensible and appropriately documented code.
- Create and maintain automated tests, deployment support materials, technical documentation and runbooks.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, monitoring, troubleshooting and agreed production incident arrangements.
- Investigate defects and address root causes, technical debt and recurring support issues.
- Collaborate with other delivery partners to review work and absorb platform knowledge.
- Work with the team to support and maintain the existing Wellbeing Gateway platform during the transition to the next future generation.
- Share technical knowledge and contribute practical guidance to other developers.
Skills you’ll bring
- At least five years of commercial experience in full stack software development, or equivalent depth of applied experience.
- Strong experience developing modern web applications using React with JavaScript or React with TypeScript.
- Commercial experience with React.
- Experience modern server-side programming languages preferably Java and Node.js.
- Experience designing, building and consuming APIs and integrations.
- Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases.
- Experience with cloud-based development and deployment in Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with GitHub, Git and modern source-control practices.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews and software quality practices.
- Understanding of secure coding, maintainability, extensibility and operational supportability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Clear communication and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A product-focused mindset and willingness to take ownership from design through production support.
