Transport Planning Team Lead

Job Title: Transport Planning Team Lead
Location: Gyongyosshalaz, Hungary
Reports to (Position): Manager - FGS (Gyongyoshalasz)
Department/Function: Logistics

Purpose of the Job: The Transport Planning Team Lead manages the Transport Planning team and oversees the daily operation of the Transport Planning Service Desk to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused transportation services. This role is responsible for coordinating team activities, managing escalations, driving operational excellence, and contributing to logistics projects related to transport planning and execution. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role maintains hands-on involvement in transport planning activities as required to support business objectives.

Major Responsibilities: 

1. Transport Planning

• Monitor Delivery notes, and build up Shipments,
• Monitor Delivery slots and schedule shipments,
• Allocate shipments and book Carriers or Forwarders,
• Avoid influence attempts and violations from Carriers,
• Prepare Loading plan and coordinate with Warehouses,
• Follow up and coordination until delivery,
• Review Proof of Delivery (POD) documents, and approve the shipments for invoicing,
• Import and export documentation handling,
• Ensure fulfillment of Customer and Country specific requirements,
• Monitor IT systems used, and act in case of abnormality.

2. Leadership 

• Coordinate the daily work of the Transport Planning Team,
• Review and manage the work of the Transport Planning Team,
• Take the ownership on the operation of the Transport Planning Service Desk.
• Monitor master data availability,
• Monitor IT system issues and follow up their resolution,
• Keep in contact with Internal Customers, Carriers and Forwarders,
• Review and control of expenses,
• Lead or participate in projects.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree or similar education in the area of Supply Chain/Logistics/Business Administration
• Professional written and verbal communication in both Hungarian and English

Must Have

• Leadership aptitude and attitude,
  
• Confident computer usage skills,
  
• Basic but confident Microsoft O365 (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) usage skills,
  
• Confident usage of the communication channels (email, phone, SMS, Microsoft Teams),
• High tolerance for repetitive tasks and reliable performance,
  
• Very high accuracy and reliability,
  
• Able to work independently with good problem-solving skills,
  
• Capability and willingness for teamwork, cooperation with others.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF, or VDA 6.3 standards
• Familiarity with automotive industry processes
• Basic understanding of warehousing and transportation practices
