Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Senior Staff Field Application Engineer with deep expertise in fiber-optic transceivers, semiconductor laser technologies, and high-speed data communications. Serves as the critical interface between AOI’s engineering teams and strategic customers across data center, telecom, and broadband markets.

Must be willing to relocate to Seattle, WA or San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Lead product demonstration and testing at customer sites.
• Provide technical support on-site for Fiber Optics applications.
• Assist customers with installation and configuration.
• Partner with Design Team on understanding/implementing custom design request.
• Conduct Failure Analysis, identify root cause, and conclude with corrective actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships and rapport with customer's design/testing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Fiber Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of work experience in Fiber Optics Industry, including hands-on experience on fiber optic module design/testing.
• Experience in design Optics Module is preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer support and satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to Mainland China from the United States.

Location & Travel

This position is full time and on-site based in the Seattle, WA. This position can expect around 25% of travel.
