Pay Range: $44,700 - $58,200 CAD; pay is dependent on year of study and related experience
Duration: Eight (8) months, January 4, 2027 – August 13, 2027
Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week, M-F
Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Materials Innovation Co-Op Student, you support the day-to-day activities of the Advanced Concepts materials team and will play a pivotal role in our innovation road map by leading specific research topics and discovering new research areas. This role supports with research, data, insights, materials sampling and fundamental modelling that will inform our future projects. You can expect to work in our laboratory testing material solutions and technologies to serve our athletes in all environments. Additionally, you will have opportunities to present your methods and findings to the broader Advanced Concepts team and our cross functional partners. In this role you will learn and/or use the following technology: Jira, JMP 18, Microsoft Office.

If you were a Materials Innovation Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Leading your own research projects; scouting, background research, collaborating with external parties, reviewing and writing test methods, digesting and summarizing technical information for stakeholders. Assist with additional projects under the direction of a senior AC materials members as required.
- Working in the Advanced Concepts laboratory including supporting on sample preparation and organization, conducting tests, summarizing and analyzing results. Communicating and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders. Method development under the direction of a senior AC materials member as required.
- Supporting with ongoing materials management; assisting in shipping and receiving duties and the storage and organization of inventory.
- Partnering with the broader Advanced Concepts team and other cross functional partners on research projects including collaborating and gaining insights into the Merchandising, Design, Product Creation and Development, Raw Materials Development, and Supply Chain teams, along with other external partners.
Here are some of the things you will learn by the end of your Co-Op placement:
- Gain experience working alongside researchers, scientists and designers who are working on the next generation of Arc’teryx product. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of their approach.
- Gain further insights into materials and product testing, and pressure test current methodologies and develop new ones.
- Gain insight into the scientific method and other documentation methods and workflows.
Are you our next Materials Innovation Co-Op Student?
- You are a senior Undergraduate student in Materials Science or Engineering, Textiles Science or Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
- Currently enrolled in or entering a Master’s/PhD program preferred
- You are comfortable using the Microsoft Suite.
- You are experienced using data analysis software.
- You are experienced with laboratory testing and mechanical testing. You have experience operating associated instrumentation.
- You are comfortable navigating, reading and interpreting data.
- You are an initiator, keen to connect with existing and broader teams, able to build relationships, share data and approach insights with ease.
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
- You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.

Compensation:
Salary range for this role is: $44,700 - $58,200; Individual pay is determined by factors such as program of study, year of study, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
