The Warehouse Specialist works in a team setting to reach warehouse operations goals. The Warehouse Specialist performs warehouse duties including sorting, receiving, pulling orders, and operating forklifts. This is a safety sensitive position. The Warehouse Specialist is a vital member of the Operations department and collaborates with them to support the implementation of new strategies, programs, or initiatives. This position will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief. Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.
1. Safely operate industrial lift trucks and other motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise
2. Meet safety, accuracy, and production standards for all assignments
3. Receive all product from trucks making deliveries to the Foodbank
4. Receive all product picked up by Foodbank trucks
5. Select product safely with a high degree of accuracy
6. Restock merchandise in the order selection area
7. Assist agencies with loading of their pallets
8. Transfer products to cooler, freezer, and warehouse from dock area
9. Complete proper receiving and shipping forms.
10. Conduct daily safety inspection of the equipment and submit report to Warehouse Manager
11. Perform basic sanitation duties to ensure a clean environment. Inspect all incoming loads for evidence of spoilage, odors, damaged containers, insects, rodents, excessive heat damage, freezer damage, water damage, mold or product leakage and report same to Warehouse Director
12. Conduct cycle counts and assist in inventory reconciliation
13. Identify and report any mechanical issues with warehouse equipment
14. Comply with warehouse and food safety guidelines
15. Work effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse operations assisting when and where needed
