    About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing alternative investment manager, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to partner closely with the CEO in building the operational infrastructure needed to support the firm's next phase of growth.
This executive will lead the firm's operational strategy, governance framework, and business infrastructure, ensuring the organization is positioned to scale efficiently across multiple investment strategies. The ideal candidate combines institutional investment management experience with a proven ability to build processes, optimize operations, and translate strategic vision into disciplined execution.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering broad responsibility across operations, technology, finance, risk, investor operations, and organizational development.

    Responsibilities

      • Partner with the CEO to execute the firm's long-term operational strategy and organizational objectives.
      • Design and implement scalable governance frameworks, operating models, and decision-making processes.
      • Build and enhance operational infrastructure across investment operations, finance, technology, investor operations, compliance, and corporate functions.
      • Drive firmwide process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk.
      • Develop policies, procedures, and operating standards that promote accountability, consistency, and operational excellence.
      • Evaluate and oversee technology platforms supporting investment management, CRM, reporting, document management, and business operations.
      • Establish key performance metrics and management reporting to support strategic decision-making.
      • Manage critical vendor relationships and oversee third-party operational service providers.
      • Ensure the firm's operating platform is positioned to support future fund launches, new investment strategies, and continued business growth.
      • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on execution, continuous improvement, and organizational scalability.

    Qualifications & Preferred Experience

      • 12+ years of leadership experience within investment management, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, or institutional asset management.
      • Previous experience as a Chief Operating Officer, Head of Operations, Chief of Staff, or similar senior operational leadership role preferred.
      • Demonstrated success building and scaling operational infrastructure within a growing investment organization.
      • Strong understanding of investment operations, fund administration, portfolio management systems, CRM platforms, operational technology, and governance best practices.
      • Experience designing scalable business processes, organizational structures, and operating frameworks.
      • Familiarity with SEC-registered investment advisers and the regulatory environment supporting alternative investment managers.
      • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving operations, finance, technology, legal, compliance, and investment teams.
      • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
      • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
