    Job description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Portfolio Analyst – Balance Sheet, you'll play an important role in supporting the execution of investment strategies that align with our members' best financial interests.

Working alongside experienced investment professionals, you'll undertake detailed research and analysis, contribute to portfolio monitoring activities, and support balance sheet investment management. You'll have the opportunity to work across liquidity management, capital allocation, collateral oversight and investment analytics, helping to shape insights that support strategic decision-making.

You'll also contribute to the development and improvement of investment data, models, frameworks and reporting tools while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. Your work will help support governance, risk management and operational excellence across the investment function.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.

    Responsibilities

    Day to day, you'll:

    • Undertake research and analysis to support the development and implementation of balance sheet investment strategies.
    • Assist with monitoring liquidity buffers, capital allocation and collateral positions.
    • Support the identification, assessment and optimisation of balance sheet investments.
    • Contribute to portfolio performance monitoring, risk analysis and mandate compliance activities.
    • Build, maintain and enhance investment data, models, frameworks and analytical tools.
    • Develop trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaboration and informed decision-making.
    • Assist in meeting governance, compliance and risk management obligations.
    • Participate in strategic initiatives and project activities as required.

    Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

    • You hold tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, economics or a related discipline.
    • Your research and analytical skills enable you to understand complex investment issues.
    • You'll demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • You're able to build effective stakeholder relationships and collaborate within a team environment.
    • You have experience using relevant analytical, reporting or investment systems.
    • Your attention to detail allows you to produce accurate and high-quality work.
    • You'll ideally be progressing towards postgraduate or professional investment qualifications.
    • You're familiar with financial modelling, valuation principles or quantitative analysis techniques.
    • You have quantitative programming capabilities or an interest in developing these skills.
    • Your experience within superannuation, investments or financial services will be highly regarded.
