    Overview

The Head of Underwriting Advisory is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and continued development of Artex Capital Solutions’ owned and managed transformation platforms.

The role has two primary areas of accountability:1. To lead, guide and provide governance to Artex Capital Solutions (ACS) owned transformation platforms; and2. To lead and provide input through ACS Advisory in the delivery of transformation client solutions and detailed reinsurance wording review projects for new and existing clients of ACS.

Working closely with clients, brokers, investors, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams across Artex, the role will help shape commercially viable solutions, strengthen ACS’s advisory capabilities, and support the continued growth of its transformation and insurance-linked securities offerings.

    How you'll make an impact

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic leadership, governance, and technical oversight for Artex-owned and ACS-managed transformation platforms.
    • Oversee the performance, operating effectiveness, and strategic direction of the platforms, ensuring alignment with approved business plans, operating manuals, governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on the structure, operation, and governance of ACS transformation platforms.
    • Work closely with platform Vice Presidents and Boards to support effective governance, informed decision-making, and the appropriate management of operational, underwriting, and regulatory matters.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance existing platforms, expand product capabilities, and support sustainable revenue growth.
    • Lead complex, transaction-focused advisory engagements involving multidisciplinary teams and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide senior-level underwriting expertise and conduct detailed reviews of reinsurance contracts, transaction documentation, and related contractual wordings.
    • Evaluate proposed contractual terms to ensure that they are commercially appropriate, technically sound, and aligned with the intended risk-transfer structure.
    • Lead the design, structuring, and delivery of sophisticated risk-transfer solutions for current and prospective clients.
    • Advise insurance, reinsurance, and capital markets clients on the development and refinement of business plans, transaction structures, and operating models.
    • Provide clear, practical, and commercially focused recommendations that reflect client objectives, regulatory expectations, and market considerations.
    • Coordinate input from internal subject matter experts, clients, brokers, legal advisers, investors, and other transaction participants to support the successful delivery of advisory engagements.
    • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with relevant regulatory authorities and facilitate proactive dialogue on insurance and reinsurance regulatory matters.
    • Support clients and internal stakeholders in understanding and responding to regulatory considerations affecting proposed or existing structures.
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, brokers, investors, platform directors, and senior stakeholders across the wider Artex organization.
    • Represent ACS confidently in client meetings, Board discussions, regulatory engagements, and industry forums.
    • Contribute to the continued development and expansion of ACS’s transformation platform, advisory, underwriting, and insurance-linked securities capabilities.
    • Support the development of new products, services, and commercially viable client solutions.
    • Contribute strategic and technical expertise to the ACS Senior Leadership Team and the wider Sales, Analytics and Advisory function.
    • Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership regarding platform strategy, product expansion, transaction activity, and revenue-generating opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Artex teams across jurisdictions to share expertise, coordinate advisory activities, and promote consistent standards and best practices.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical direction to colleagues involved in underwriting, advisory, and transformation platform activities.

    About you
