Data Engineer and Data Quality Lead

Anglicare Southern Queensland are seeking a Data Engineer and Data Quality Lead to join our Technology and Digital team based in Fortitude Valley.

This role is responsible for building and operating the data pipelines that support our data warehouse, reporting and analytics capabilities while leading the technical practice of data quality management across the organisation. Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you will help ensure trusted, resilient and high-quality data is available to support business decision-making, governance and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in designing scalable data solutions, embedding quality controls and supporting the ongoing maturity of our enterprise data platform.

This position works collaboratively with the Head of Data Governance who establishes and governs the enterprise data governance framework through the business.

How you will help make a difference

• Design, build and operate data pipelines that move data from source systems into the data warehouse and lakehouse environments.
• Develop dimensional models and prepare datasets that support reporting, analytics and approved AI use cases.
• Ensure data pipelines are tested, monitored, documented and recoverable, with issues identified and resolved proactively.
• Build and maintain automated data quality measurement processes across key enterprise data domains
• Identify and track data quality issues, supporting resolution at the source and driving continuous improvement outcomes.
• Produce data quality reporting to support governance processes and organisational reporting requirements.
• Standardise and streamline data ingestion and transformation practices while reducing reliance on legacy integration processes.
• Maintain technical metadata, lineage information and documentation to support business continuity and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to continual improvement initiatives, including the identification and management of technical debt.

What you will bring to the role

• Current National Police Check OR Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Data or a related discipline
• Demonstrated data engineering experience on cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Strong SQL and Python capability.
• Demonstrated experience in data quality measurement and improvement practices.
• Experience applying disciplined pipeline engineering practices including version control, testing and monitoring.
• Azure Data Engineering certifications such as DP-203, DP-600 or equivalent will be highly regarded.
• Experience working with aged care, health or community services data, including clinical or regulatory reporting, will be highly regarded.
