Pharmacy Technician II (Per Diem) - Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

This pharmacy technician role is for experienced technicians with hospital, retail, or other pharmacy practice backgrounds. Under pharmacist supervision, technicians support sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous medication preparation, delivery, and safety practices while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Develop proficiency in pharmacy automation, electronic medical records, and the safe handling of medications and communication with other healthcare professionals.

• Proficient in the use of various pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical record
• Responsible for medication preparation and delivery, including controlled dangerous substances and hazardous medications.
• Responsible for the safe and accurate preparation of non-sterile and sterile medications according to USP 795, 797 and 800 guidelines.
• Handle hazardous medications according to USP 800 guidelines.
• Follow proper medication safety practices (e.g., look alike sound alike, high alert, expirations and recalls, temperature and humidity documentation).
• Assist in training of pharmacy personnel, when appropriate.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork.
