    Job description

As Head of Cigars at Cambridge House, you will be responsible for the creation, development and daily management of our cigar offering. You will bring deep expertise, refined taste and a thoughtful, guest-focused approach, ensuring every interaction feels personal, knowledgeable and deliberate. Working with the wider team, you will establish Cambridge House as a destination for cigar connoisseurs and those discovering cigars for the first time. This is a rare opportunity to curate an exceptional programme within an environment built on respect, attention to detail and genuine warmth between team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Build trusted relationships with suppliers and distributors, sourcing exclusive and quality cigars, positioning Cambridge House as a destination for cigar discovery and exploration.

    • Curate and maintain a world-class cigar collection by building a balanced and considered portfolio that honours established cigar houses while introducing distinctive producers. Regularly refine the selection to reflect availability, seasonality and guest preference.

    • Oversee the management and condition of the humidor, ensuring optimal storage and presentation at all times. Maintain precise control of humidity and temperature, ensuring every cigar is kept in perfect condition while presenting the humidor as an elegant and inviting focal point.

    • Provide expert, intuitive guidance to guests, tailoring recommendations to individual preferences and occasions. Engage guests with confidence, warmth and discretion.

    • Collaborate with team members such as the Beverage Director, to create thoughtful cigar pairings to deliver and host tailored experiences and tastings that feel personal, engaging and well considered.

    • Lead the cigar service on a daily basis, setting the tone for a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.

    • Oversee daily operations with a calm, attentive approach, ensuring a consistently polished and comfortable guest experience.

    • Train and guide team members in cigar knowledge and service standards, ensuring confidence and consistency.

    • Ensure all regulatory and compliance standards are met with care and diligence relating to cigar storage and service with accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Cigar qualifications, such as MoHC, are highly desired.

    • Proven experience in a senior cigar-focused role within a luxury hotel, private members’ club or specialist environment.

    • Deep knowledge of cigar origins, production methods, ageing, storage and service.

    • A refined understanding of luxury service, with an emphasis on discretion and personalisation.

    • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing inventory and supplier relationships.

    • Confident communicator, able to engage a diverse and international clientele with ease.

    • A calm, considered presence, with exceptional attention to detail.
