Manufacturing Engineering Intern-Summer 2027

POSITION SUMMARY

AUMOVIO is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2027 at our automotive manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while developing a broad understanding of Engineering. The Manufacturing Engineering Internship position is a developmental role to gain practical experience in the Production environment and support the needs of the Final Assembly Industrial Engineering department.

This internship is a full-time, on-site opportunity designed to provide meaningful learning experiences and professional development. This internship position is scheduled to last 12 weeks in length from May 17, 2027-August 6, 2027. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect cycle time information, formulate, and implement improvement ideas in production area and in Logistics (Warehouse) operations.
• Implement LEAN concepts to the Production and Part Delivery Systems (e-Kanban, Pull Systems, One Piece flow, etc).
• Support improvement activities for daily OEE, FPY, Scrap and other KPIs.
• Develop and document process procedures for new products/processes.
• Identify critical process parameters and assist in improving the capability of the process to assure adherence to these requirements.
• Document spare parts and determine min/max to support MTTR and downtime reduction.
• Assist in successful implementation of new products by supporting engineering team in documentation and qualification of new processes/products.
• Support other Engineering duties and projects as assigned.

Required

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other related studies.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. AUMOVIO will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this position now or in the future.

Preferred

• Prior internship or work experience in Engineering field or automotive manufacturing.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
• Exposure to manufacturing, operations, or industrial environments.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Engineering.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, or process improvement initiatives.
